Powerhertz has been awarded the contract by Elecnor Joint Venture for the modelling and connection studies including GPS compliance testing for the Synchronous Condensers (SYNCONs) for the Project Energy Connect.
Project Energy Connect (PEC) is the interconnector between the Transgrid 330kV transmission system at Wagga, NSW and the ElectraNet 275kV transmission system at Robertstown, SA. There are 4 x 120MVA SYNCONs being installed for Energy Connect, on the NSW side at Buronga and at Dinawan. The SYNCONs will fill the system strength gap in the network at the connecting location so that more renewable generation can be connected to the grid.
