Light Source BP received the AEMO 5.3.10 approval for the Goulburn River Hybrid DC coupled BESS with 2 DUIDs – 480 MW / 960MWh which is a Transgrid connection with Power Electronics inverters. Powerhertz provided the modelling for adding the DC coupled BESS to the already 5.3.4A approved 480MW solar farm for which the R0 modelling was also provided by Powerhertz.

Goulburn River Hybrid DC coupled BESS is unique in its configuration with 2 separate DUIDs – PV DUID is at the POC, whilst the BESS DUID will be implemented at the BESS DC terminals. This comes with the substantial benefit that the BESS will be despatched and metered independently and separately to the PV and therefore the BESS DUID will be scheduled whilst the PV DUID can still be semi-scheduled.
