Powerhertz has successfully completed the R1 modelling and connection studies including GPS compliance HP testing in Oct 2025 for the 2 x 120MVA Synchronous Condensers (SYNCONs) at Buronga NSW for the Project Energy Connect.

The HP testing for the next phase of the project which is 2 x 120MVA Synchronous Condensers (SYNCONs) at Dinawan NSW will be completed in May 2026.

Project Energy Connect (PEC) is the interconnector between the Transgrid 330kV transmission system at Wagga, NSW and the ElectraNet 275kV transmission system at Robertstown, SA. The SYNCONs are filling the system strength gap in the network at the connecting location so that more renewable generation can be connected to the grid.
